Who Can Use the Redundancy Pay Calculator?
Redundancy pay is based on three main factors: an employee’s age, weekly pay, and length of service. Our Redundancy Pay Calculator helps you estimate this quickly. To qualify for statutory redundancy pay, an employee must have worked continuously for the employer for at least two years.
The Redundancy Pay Calculator uses the following rules to estimate the amount:
Half a week’s pay for each full year of service while under 22
One week’s pay for each full year of service aged 22 to 40
One and a half weeks’ pay for each full year of service aged 41 and above

Frequently asked questions
What is statutory redundancy pay?
If you lose your job in the UK, you can get financial support through statutory redundancy pay. To be eligible, you must have worked continuously for at least two years.
You can use a calculator to estimate your entitlement, and payments are determined by your age, weekly pay, and length of service. Depending on business policy or your contract, employers may also decide to pay more than the minimum amount required by law.
Who qualifies for redundancy pay?
Employees in the UK who have worked consistently for the same company for at least two years are eligible for statutory redundancy pay. Age, weekly salary, and length of service all affect the payment amount. Although some roles, such as the police or military, may have different regulations, it is easier to check how much you could receive with a redundancy calculator. It’s best to go over your contract and use a calculator to get clarity if you’re unclear about your eligibility.
What is the maximum redundancy pay?
There are caps on statutory redundancy pay. Only 20 years of service can be credited, and weekly pay is capped at £643 (£669 in Northern Ireland). Accordingly, you are eligible to receive a maximum redundancy payment of £19,290 (or £20,070 in Northern Ireland). The calculation excludes any earnings or years of service that exceed these thresholds.
